Children are especially vulnerable during their first 1,000 days of life due to weakened immune systems. When children face acute malnutrition at such a young age, they are more susceptible to death and\/or disability.<\/p><p>Project Peanut Butter operates treatment programs across sub-Saharan Africa, including Malawi, Sierra Leone, and beyond. In Sierra Leone, Project Peanut Butter established a local RUTF factory in Freetown that employs local staff, sources regional ingredients, and meets international quality standards.\u00a0<\/p><p>Through mobile clinics and community outreach, children receive RUTF along with medical follow-ups, and families are guided through the recovery process.
