Project Peanut Butter is a pioneering non-profit organization dedicated to fighting severe malnutrition, still the leading cause of child death worldwide.
Since 2004, the charity has been producing and distributing ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF), a simple yet highly effective treatment that allows children to recover from malnutrition quickly and safely.
With a focus on local production and efficiency, Project Peanut Butter ensures that life-saving food is both accessible and affordable for the communities that need it most.

Despite global efforts, the prevalence of malnutrition has barely decreased over the past two decades. Children are especially vulnerable during their first 1,000 days of life due to weakened immune systems. When children face acute malnutrition at such a young age, they are more susceptible to death and/or disability.
Project Peanut Butter operates treatment programs across sub-Saharan Africa, including Malawi, Sierra Leone, and beyond. In Sierra Leone, Project Peanut Butter established a local RUTF factory in Freetown that employs local staff, sources regional ingredients, and meets international quality standards.
Through mobile clinics and community outreach, children receive RUTF along with medical follow-ups, and families are guided through the recovery process. Most children complete treatment within 4-8 weeks, entirely free of charge.
Since its founding, Project Peanut Butter has already treated over 1 million children, giving them not only a chance to survive but also the opportunity to thrive.
With very low overhead costs, donations go directly to therapeutic feeding programs that save lives and strengthen communities. By combining medical expertise, local empowerment, and sustainable solutions, Project Peanut Butter is transforming the fight against childhood malnutrition.
Just €50 can save a child’s life through an 8-week feeding program. Thousands of children around the world can grow and flourish with your help.
